Seasonal Campfire: Glittering Fireflies

Join us for a unique seasonal park experience as we gather around a campfire for a fiery lesson in some of nature’s nocturnal friends. For the summer we will be taking a close look at our flying LED lights: the fireflies. We will be sharing a few of our favorite firefly myths from around the world, learning how they chemically produce light (using a diabolically named substance), putting together our own glowing firefly action figures to take home, and enjoying some s’mores before turning our attention to the woods for a firefly frolic! Participants are encouraged to bring their own insect repellent. All fireflies will be released at the end of the program.

Note:

Children under age 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
