Sunrise & Stars: An Early Morning Look at the Sky

You won’t want to miss this opportunity to view an early morning look at the stars and planets before the sun rises! Enjoy a view of Jupiter and Mars side-by-side in a near conjunction and grab sights of Saturn, too. Watch Orion rising in the East, view the Orion Nebula, and see an early bird look at the entire winter hexagon of bright stars surrounding Orion all in the warmth of midsummer. There are more goodies to see: the Andromeda Galaxy, a grand globular star cluster, and glorious open star clusters.
Oakland Astronomy Club will provide the telescopes. Bring your curiosity and binoculars or borrow ours. Dress for the elements.
