Seasonal Adult Hikes : Coyotes 11/07

A healthy ecosystem contains a variety of species, and even some species that humans might not find desirable play a vital ecological role. We find that many people have misconceptions about the importance, or even have irrational fears about some of our favorite members of the Canidae family: coyotes. Join us as we take a look at these relatives of dogs and examine their role on the ecosystem by observing a coyote mount. Afterwards we will head out on the trails to see if we can identify coyote calls, tracks, or even signs of these elusive predators. Participants will even be taking home their own coyote poster.

Note:

Participants are asked to bring their own headlamp or flashlight for the hike. Registration for the Nature Programs and Nature Open Houses is open to both residents and non-residents NOW!
