Lost Lake Open Houses-Keeping Warm in the Snow 2p

Program is Full
Even though there is no furnance in a squirrel drey the animal is still cozy and bundled. But how can this be? Join us as we take a look at the fascinating world of animal body-coverings. We will look up close and personal at local and exotic animal furs and perform experiments to see how resistant to cold they are before transitioning to scales and seeing just how poorly they keep an animal warm. We will even be taking a peek at some body-coverings of a few creatures from the ocean! Our youngest explorers will be putting together their own furry animal craft to take home to ensure their cuddling at home remains cozy and warm. We will have snow-shoes available for participants should the weather cooperate.

Note:

Lost Lake Nature Park's Open Houses will be offering 2 sessions for each Open House that'll take place in our reserved spot of the park by the docks and picnic tables. Each session is 1.5 hours and will be limited to 10 active participants. Registration for the Nature Programs and Nature Open Houses is open to both residents and non-residents NOW!
